The district attorney said that Jace was charged with second degree murder of his wife who died in a shooting incident in 2014 in Los Angeles.

Shield actor Michael Jace is 53 years old. He will be faced with the prospect of 40 years of life imprisonment after the sentencing is carried out on June 10. This was revealed through an e-mail from the spokesman of the District Attorney’s office, Greg Risling.

Risling further revealed that the jury came to the conclusion that Michael Jace wife had been shot with a handgun. This revelation has the potential to increase the prison time considerably.

The Shield actor Michael Jace went to trial on May 23 for the crime of shooting and killing his wife April Jace on May 19, 2014. She was 40 years old at that time. The crime took place in the home of the Jaces located in South Los Angeles. Michael Jace called the authorities after shooting citing an emergency.

The couple has two children. Both of them – younger than ten – were present inside the home at the time of the incident. They have been placed under the care of their relatives.

The Los Angeles police department had detained Michael Jace on May 19, 2014 when they received a report of domestic violence. He had also called the police and told them that he had shot his wife.

When the police arrived at the scene, they found April dead from the shooting. Jace was immediately taken into custody for questioning. He confessed to the shooting. He was formally charged on May 22, 2014.

The jury began deliberating on Friday and resumed on Tuesday. It took the jury at least three hours to reach the verdict. Second degree murder constitutes a murder that is intentional but not premeditated.

Michael Jace is an American actor who is best known for playing the part of Julien Lowe in the TV drama ‘The Shield.’ He has also acted opposite Russell Crowe in the thriller ‘State of Play’ but his role was uncredited.

He has also played a role in an episode of ‘Cold Play.’ The Shield was a police drama which was set in Los Angeles and ran from 2002 to 2008.
