Renowned actress Vanessa Hudgens shared the news of her father’s death only a few hours before she was supposed to take the stage for ‘Grease: Live’ – a Fox Production.

“I am so sad to say that last night my daddy, Greg passed away from stage 4 cancer,” she posted on a social media website. “Thank you to everyone who kept him in your prayers.”

She also said that the night’s show was in his honor.

The young actress had revealed her father’s diagnosis when she was accepting the 2015 Industry Dance Awards in L.A.

“Last year, my boyfriend, Austin Butler, lost his mom, Lori, to cancer, and my dad has just been recently diagnosed with stage four cancer,” she said. “Let me tell you, I hate cancer. I hate cancer with every cell of my being.”

During the previous month, she had requested her fans to pray for her father. ‘Grease: Live’ has already become a sweeping hit according to the reaction it has received on the internet. Most people are saying that Vanessa Hudgens is one of the reasons for the success of the show.

On Sunday night, the young actress gave a performance only hours after she announced that her father had died of stage 4 cancer. She had also posted the news of his death on her social media account. Rather than not performing, she decided to dedicate the show to her father.

Born in 1988, Vanessa Hudgens is a singer and an actress. She became famous for acting the part of Gabriella Montez in the ‘High School Musical Series.’

Vanessa Hudgens also took part in several film projects and TV series for the Disney Channel. Her debut film ‘Thirteen’ was released in 2003. It was a teenage film in which Vanessa Hudgens had a small supporting role.
