Various Issues You Can Face During the Canon Printer Setup

Canon Printer Setup

Canon is a worldwide famous brand known for manufacturing top cameras and other imaging devices. In hardware, Canon provides a wide range of printers. These printers are very robust and offer excellent printing services. You can easily set up the printer on any device and take the printouts. But some users may face issues while setting up the Canon printer.

The Canon printer is not connecting with the USB cable

The connection error is very common in printer devices. PC connection is easy as you get a cable with your Canon printer. You can use the cable and connect the printer to the PC. But if you are unable to connect then check the cable for any damage. Eject the cable from both systems and check the ends for damage. Replace the faulty USB cable. Sometimes the setup error occurs when the user has connected the printer with a low-speed cable. You should only use a good high-speed cable for the connection.

Canon printer wireless connection error

New Canon printer models have wireless connection service. You can easily connect the printer to a PC, phone, or network wirelessly. The connection error mainly appears when the Wi-Fi function is not working properly. Go to the printer and restart the Wi-Fi button. Now go to the PC and enable Wi-Fi. Open the Devices folder and click on Printers & Scanners. Now hit on Add a Device option and you will see a list of devices. Wait until your Canon printer appears on the list. Select your printer and hit the Connect button. After the connection, you can easily take the printouts.

Canon printer setup error after changing settings

Many users reported that they are unable to set up the printer after making changes to the settings. This error can occur when the user makes an invalid change to the printer settings. You need to undo those settings on the printer. But the problem appears when the user doesn’t know the correct printer settings. Instead of making wrong edits on the settings, reset the printer. Where is the reset button on a Canon printer? Go to the printer and check the rear side. In many printers, you can find a small reset button on the rear side. But not all Canon printers have a reset button. If you want to reset the printer then go to the Menu. Tap on Settings and navigate to Reset. Select Factory Reset and hit the OK button. Your printer will be reset to factory settings and now you can reconfigure the printer to your device.

The Canon printer is showing a communication error

Many users get communication errors while setting up the printer. Communication errors mainly occur when the printer can’t find the required driver. The printer driver creates a communication channel between the printer and PC. Without the driver, your printer won’t receive any commands. While connecting the printer; make sure you have the correct printer driver on the PC. Go to the computer and open the driver’s folder. Now search for your Canon printer driver. If you have the driver then check for the model number. Sometimes the user installs the wrong driver on the computer. Go to the printer and check the model name. Install the correct driver for your printer. If you already have a driver installed then check for the updates.

No cartridge error

While setting up the printer to PC, some users reported that they are getting no cartridge error on the printer. This error usually appears when the cartridges are not installed correctly inside the cartridge. To fix this, go to the printer and eject all the installed cartridges. Now check those cartridges for any damage. If the pin is broken then replace the cartridge. Sometimes the user forgets to remove the plastic clip before installing the cartridge. Check your new cartridges for the plastic clip. Remove the plastic clip and then reinstall your cartridges carefully. Wait until the slot state changes. Now complete the printer setup and take your printouts.

Canon printer not responding

Not responding errors mainly appear on printers when some of the printer services are not working. To fix this problem, you have to run a power restart. Sometimes the printer services get stuck and unable to resume. To run those services, perform a power restart. Go to the printer and eject its power cord. Now reconnect and all printer services will start running from the beginning.
