Covid-19 Precautions In Public Places

Covid-19 Precautions In Public Places

COVID-19 has turned our worlds upside down. It has impacted everyone and everything, the way we live and interact with each other, the way we work and communicate, and also the way we move around and travel. Every aspect of our lives has been affected due to this virus.

Covid-19 Precautions In Public Places

Most of us have been spending much of our time trying to get used to the radical lifestyle changes the virus has brought. Also, most of us have accepted that it will take a while for the virus to vanish, and we will have to learn to start living with it. While most of us are practicing social distancing, hand washing, and other preventive measures, everyone needs to understand how to keep oneself safe in public places at all times.

It is important to note that coronavirus spreads from person to person who is in close contact. It is spread by respiratory droplets released when someone infected with the virus coughs, sneezes or talks.

Public areas are areas of heavy human traffic and crowding, and hence it is important to take precautions to prevent infection.

Do’s and don’ts to prevent illness through COVID-19

  • Always keep a safe distance of 6 feet or 2 meters between yourself and people outside your household.
  • Wash your hands with soap and water frequently and thoroughly for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  • Always cover your mouth and nose with a face mask, handkerchief, or tissue. Cover your mouth and nose with your elbow whenever you cough or sneeze. Wash and iron the handkerchief daily and throw away the tissue in case you used the same.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Hands touch multiple surfaces that might be contaminated with the virus and you can transfer the virus from the surface to yourself.
  • Clean and disinfect all surfaces you often touch on a day-to-day basis.
  • Avoid hand-shakes and hugging at all times.
