How Celebrities Are Entertaining Themselves While Social Distancing

With the calendar turning to summer and the sun shining much of the day, you may be tempted to forget about social distancing and head to the nearest crowded beach or bar. Yet as recent coronavirus outbreaks in Texas, Florida and Arizona have shown, large gatherings are still not safe.

How Celebrities Are Entertaining Themselves While Social Distancing

Thankfully, there are plenty of other ways you can enjoy yourself while remaining six feet apart from others. For instance, you can design your own pool by a search of “custom pools Charleston” or whichever city you reside and relax in your own backyard.

Many celebrities have also demonstrated ways to entertain themselves while social distancing. Here are some examples.

Hiking

Big Little Lies stars Laura Dern and Reese Witherspoon went on a hike together shortly before stay-at-home orders went into effect. Still, as photos from the outing show, they were able to stay six feet apart even while taking selfies.

FaceTiming

Thanks to technology, you can talk to your friends without physically hanging out with them.  Ellen DeGeneres actually posted an Instagram video of her FaceTime conversation with fellow comedian Kevin Hart.

Doing Puzzles

When DeGeneres is not chatting with her fellow celebrities, she is finding ways to have fun by herself. She posted several videos where she attempted to put together a 4,000-piece puzzle. Sadly, she eventually realized that she did not have enough room on her table for such a large endeavor. So if you do attempt puzzles during the pandemic, you should probably opt for something a little smaller.

Coloring

Don’t you remember how relaxing it was to draw as a kid? The pandemic is a perfect excuse to return to this relaxing childhood pastime. Actress Kristen Bell even worked with her daughters to share a colorful message about social distancing.

Dancing

Several celebrities have used the pandemic to show off their dancing skills on social media. Actress Laverne Cox, for instance, did a Flashdance-inspired routine from her own closet. Ashley Tisdale, meanwhile, channeled her High School Musical days by recreating the “We’re All in This Together” scene from the film. Even Friends star Courteney Cox decided to get in on the fun by learning a TikTok dance during quarantine.

You can also get a bit creative with your dance routines. Actress Margaret Qualley and model Cara Delevingne came up with a choreographed number set to “Kung Fu Fighting.”

Indeed, dancing is a fun activity that you can do alongside any friends or family members with whom you are quarantining. Married couple Justin and Hailey Bieber also learned a TikTok routine during the pandemic.

Enjoying Date Nights

If dancing is not your thing, there are other ways you and your spouse can spend time together while stuck in the house. In fact, you can take advantage of the situation by having regular date nights. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey recently revealed that she and her fiancé, sportscaster Mike Hill, went for a walk together in their neighborhood. Bailey said that the experience allowed them to get some fresh air while exercising their minds and bodies.

Hanging Out With Pets

You can use the pandemic to get closer to your furry friends, as well. Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Millie Bobby Brown are some of the stars who have posted photos of themselves and their pets during quarantine.

Singing

Property Brothers star Drew Scott has been showing off his vocal skills on Instagram. Singing is also a great way to pass the time while you do necessary quarantine chores such as cleaning. Broadway star Kristen Chenoweth hit some high notes as she wiped down her kitchen and bathroom.

Drinking

When all else fails, you can always chill at home with some booze. Actress Elizabeth Banks recently posted a photo of herself drinking tequila in some comfortable leopard-print pajamas.

As you can see, there are plenty of ways to safely have fun during this pandemic. You can go swimming in your pool, dance with your family or enjoy a romantic date night with your lover. These activities should reduce your boredom and limit your temptation to attend big parties during quarantine.
